Cousins! 85 year old comedian and actor Bill Cosby has plans of returning to the stage for the new year despite his continuous and controversial legal troubles surrounding sexual assault claims!
According to NPR, Cosby’s publicist and crisis manager Andrew Wyatt shared the news back in December with the outlet. He says the tour is scheduled for this year, “roughly around spring, summer or late summer.”
Andrew explains that the Cosby tour is in high demand from fans. “We have so many — I mean, hundreds of thousands of supporters just asking for him to do a show. We have so many promoters across the country. He is in high demand.”
News of Cosby’s upcoming tour comes just weeks after a total of five women filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him. Amongst the series of women is said to include two actors from The Cosby Show. The newly issued suit falls under a newly proposed law in New York, identified as the Adult Survivors Act, which allows to victims to sue abusers even after the statute of limitations expires.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed the Adult Survivors Act in May 2022. “The fight against sexual assault requires us to recognize the impact of trauma within our justice system,”. “I am proud to sign this legislation, which is part of our collective responsibility to protect one another and create an environment that makes survivors feel safe.”
Andrew says that he is confident the newly issued suits won’t affect their tour efforts. “People have looked at the allegations, they’ve looked at the information, and it’s a money grab.”
