Cousins! Kim Kardashian has taken to both Instagram and Twitter to speak out against the current controversy surrounding Balenciaga’s latest campaign!
Kim says that she has taken the time to speak directly with the high end fashion brand to gain a better understanding and that she appreciates their apology. However as a mother of 4 Kim explains that she advocates for the safety of all children.
“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.”
Kim continues, “As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society -period.”
“I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the
campaigns and apology. In speaking with
them, I believe they understand the
seriousness of the issue and will take the
necessary measures for this to never
happen again.”
Her comments comes just 24 hours after her estranged ex husband Kanye West called out celebrities for their failure to speak out against the campaign which has been accused of sexualizing children.
Kim also initially shared that she would be reevaluating her partnership with Balenciaga. However according to reports from TMZ, Kim was offered a 2023 Balenciaga campaign prior to the investigation in which she has now declined.
Sources close to Kim state that she was set to wear the brands signature clothing at a variation of different events by within the next month. She has now contacted other fashion designers to style her in.
