Cousins! A status report has been filed for the third time regarding the late Nipsey Hussle’s 13 year old daughter Emani Dior Asghedom, as his family continues to fight for custody against his former girlfriend Tanisha Foster!
According to reports from Radar Online, Nipsey’s older brother Sam Asghedom has been appointed by Los Angeles courts since 2019 to be the official administrator of his estate as well as liable for his business endeavors. It has been stated that all matters have been resolved with the exception of one as the Asghedom family continues to battle for full custody of Emani.
Obtained court documents show that mediation has been scheduled, however both parties have yet to come to a neutral resolution. Sam has stated that the case is still pending due to Tanisha’s continuous objection for primary guardianship within her own favor. The family has issued their concerns of her being an unfit parent upon claims that she is unable to provide a safe home environment and lifestyle for the young preteen.
Since Nipsey’s tragic passing, a judge has approved to provided full custody on behalf of both Sam and their sister Samantha Smith. However Tanisha is said to have not agreed to the guardianship agreement but accepted the terms because of her “financial limitations,” at the time. Documents detail that there were certain court orders set in place that she is currently arguing weren’t upheld.
The former girlfriend claims the family has used their financial status and influence to control Emani’s alleged desires. She argues that the family is withholding financial assistance and minimizing visitation on her behalf.
Tanisha is currently requesting the court to provide her full guardianship and explains that she is willing to hire a financial planner to help assist her manage Emani’s $2 million dollar inheritance. “There are no circumstances or events in my life that would disqualify me from regaining my exclusive role as Emani’s parent,” she says. “There is no longer any need for guardianship. Emani routinely asks me when are she and I going to be able to live together. She longs to be with me as her mother. I am begging the court to terminate the existing guardianship.”
In response the Asghedom family has made it clear of their fear for Emani’s overall safety as they reflect on Tanisha’s alleged controversial history. Sources confirm that she had previously admitted to substance abuse back in 2019 via a Children’s social worker. Nipsey’s sister has stated that Tanisha previously showed up to Emani’s school allegedly under the influence. They argue that she has a pattern of displaying unstable housing along with a series of evictions and declare that she refuses to provide a name of her boyfriend or disclose details of who she is currently living with.
Reports read that both parties are scheduled to appear in court at the top of next year, an official decision by the appointed judge is still pending at this time. Cousins, please stick with us for further updates.
