Cousins!

Last night was a truly historic night for many at the 2022 Emmys award ceremony. Serving as a pivotal moment in countless creatives careers as they were acknowledged by the academy for their performances/contributions in film, television and documentary based projects!

Quinta Brunson’s Emmy award winning speech was met with much admiration and ultimate displeasure to the folks of social media as they feel talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel stole her moment.

Nothing will happen to Jimmy Kimmel for stealing Quinta Brunson’s moment as the first Black woman to win a solo Emmy for writing on a show she created.

Good morning.

Jimmy Kimmel deciding to be the main character and literally making Quinta step over him to get her Emmy & then *staying* in her space during her speech (for a bit that wasn’t even funny) is a worse look than what Will Smith did, but won’t get discussed as so.

Not only did Quinta have to literally step over him to accept her Emmy for ‘Best Writing in a Series’ he literally laid stretched out on the floor during her entire speech.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kimmel’s act of laying on the floor was apart of a skit from earlier in the ceremony. He was supposedly pretending to have passed out from drinking too much. However folks found it to be anything BUT humorous.

After her speech folks caught up with Quinta where she says that she is not upset and that Jimmy has always supported her and the award winning series ‘Abbott Elementary’

On Wednesday both Quinta and Jimmel caught up with one another to discuss her major Emmy win and addressed him being sprawled out on stage as she delivered her acceptance speech.
