Cousins!

We may have another legendary Verzuz on the way starring two triple threats within the music industry, as Chris Brown is vowing a hit for hit battle between himself and Usher!

Chris went viral on social media recently following his appearance on ‘Drink Champs’ letting fans know that he wouldn’t mind going song for song with fellow musician and legend Usher. 

When asked about the possibility of a Verzuz battle Chris responded in saying, “they want me to do it with Usher.”

“ I can’t act like he ain’t a pioneer as well– that’s Usher,” says Chris. While also admitting that the Atlanta native is the only artist he’d go against.”It only makes sense, but it’s got to make more sense.”  Chris continues in explaining that the battle would have to be done in a way that celebrates them both as artists.

 Instantly this has sparked new conversation surrounding an ageless debate on social media as folks go back and forth about who is the better singer and better yet, the better dancer. The potential of a Chris Brown and Usher Verzuz has been tweeted about on “Black Twitter ” since 2020. 

Chris went on to share that he also wants to challenge Drake as well. “That would be a formidable champ,” he admitted. “ But you gotta think, when we go back to genres, you know what the consensus was? ’Nah, they don’t do the same music.'”

Within his newly released 10th studio album ‘BREEZY’ the Virginia native shared that the incident between him and Drake was a “Misunderstanding”.

According to Hot New Hip Hop Usher, who also has ten studio albums, has not yet replied to Chris’ recent notion. What we do know is that he is currently committed to his residency tour in Vegas.

While topping the charts for most of his career and gracing us with countless genres of music and dance; the music mogul and pioneer has successfully held a thriving career within the industry since the early 90s. Usher debuted his first studio album and self-titled project on LaFace records.

We were first introduced to Chris back in 2005 with his own self-titled album. From the very beginning he displayed his musical and dance talents with his hit single ‘Run It’  featuring Juelz Santana.

Both Grammy award winning artists have deservingly stolen the hearts of their fans while producing ageless bodies of work throughout their careers.

There has been no official word as of yet on the highly anticipated Verzuz battle so we must be on the lookout to see if  this battle ever takes place.
