According to CNN, fellow group member Phillip Bailey confirmed the tragic news earlier today on Instagram. He stated that Andrew passed away following a six year illness.

“I met him in High School and we quickly because friends and band mates. Great memories. Great talent. Funny. Competitive. Quick witted. And always styling.”

Andrew will be remembered vividly by his fans through his impactful musical legacy. Amongst his numerous talents Andrew played the sax, flute and precision.

In the early 90’s he went on to pursue a solo career. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with fellow Earth, Wind & Fire members back in 2000.
