Founding member of Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Kid Creole has officially been convicted of manslaughter, due to a 2017 incident where he stabbed a homeless man to death!
According to NPR, Nathaniel Glover, also known as Kid Creole, “had gone on trial last month for the death of John Jolly, who was stabbed twice in the chest with a steak knife in midtown Manhattan in August 2017.”
Prosecutors accused Glover of stabbing Jolly after becoming enraged because he thought he was gay and hitting on him. However his legal team argues that his actions were in regards to self-defense. Glover is scheduled for sentencing on May 4.
Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five formed in the late 1970s and rose to fame for their song “The Message” in 1982. In 2007, they were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, becoming the first rap group to do so.
