BET will be providing fans with a deeper look into one of the most dynamic and celebrated movements of our generation and honestly we can’t wait!
A five part unscripted documentary series dedicated to Murder Inc. Records and their leading acts is set to drop this summer; announced BET earlier this week.
The docuseries will deep dive into the background stories of Murder Inc. CEO Irv Gotti, alongside artists like Ja-Rule, Ashanti, Lloyd, Charli Baltimore, Vita, Black Child and more.
“My life and Murder Inc. has been filled with many highs and lows,” says Irv about the docuseries. “ I got to work with my brothers and a lot of great people; from Jay Z, DMX, Fat Joe, Mary J Blige, to name a few.”
Irv went on to explain how he’s not ashamed of the lows within his career and is ready to speak further on it.
“Pain is Love,” said Ja Rule followed up in a joint statement.“We endured the pain so others could feel the love.”
Executive vice president of BET Unscripted Programming Tiffany Lea Williams says, “Music is in our DNA. We thank our long-standing partner Irv Gotti, and the many talented artists at the iconic label for trusting our brand to tell their personal and inspiring stories. We look forward to bringing viewers a compelling music documentary series that reveals how this label consequently changed the music industry forever.”
The Murder Inc. docu-series is said to be executive produced by Irv Gotti, Ja- Rule, Darcell Lawrence and Chris Costine.
It is scheduled to drop summer 2022 only on BET.
