There has been a series of updates surrounding the tragic murder investigation of Memphis rapper Young Dolph
We’ve gotten word that not only has two new additional suspects been named, but also that one of the already primary suspects has allegedly been released by accident!
Shundale Barnett, 27 was arrested in Indiana last month as an accessory after officials identified him as being a passenger in a car now labeled as evidence, alongside primary murder suspect Justin Johnson also known as Straight Drop; reports Black Enterprise.
Clay County Sheriff Office Officials have come forward to explain that, Shundale was released from custody on January 21st as he was scheduled to be extradited back to Memphis. However sources confirm that never happened.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office alongside the U.S Marshall’s are set to issue another warrant for Shundale’s arrest. They are seeking to apply new charges of attempted first degree murder and theft of property. As of right now his whereabouts remain still unknown.
In a press conference held on Feb. 17th, Clay County Sheriff Paul Harden came forward in attempt to add insight to the situation.
“On January 11, Mr. Shundale Barnett was brought to the Clay County Jail by the Indiana State Police from an arrest on I-70. He was booked in the Clay County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Shelby County, Tennessee,” Harden stated.
“We contacted Shelby County and held him on their warrant. And we were contacted on January 21 and they told us that they were no longer wanting to come and pick up Mr. Barnett and that we were to release him at that time.”
It has been indicated that, Tennessee District Attorney General Amy Weirich gave no comment on the release of Barnett, as the investigation is still active.
