Creative genius Tyler Perry, who’s been hard at work well over 15 years, writing all of his scripts for his movies and shows, recently announced he will be casting a net to rein in some new energy!
Black Enterprise reports the successful playwright intends to hire fresh talented writers, filmmakers and producers, as confirmed by Michelle Sneed, president of production and development for Tyler Perry Studios.
“We’re super excited about the young, up-and-coming filmmakers and new writers that we’re working with,” she told the media.
“ Tyler has solidified his place in the industry, his brand is amazing, and we’ll continue to grow that. Then on the other side, we’re working on promoting, providing a platform, and advocating for this new talent, both in front of and behind the camera.”

Looks like there will be a writer’s room after all and his team is super excited about the young, up-and-coming filmmakers and new writers they are currently testing out.
It seems the self-made producer heard when the public expressed their frustration about the mogul when he let the cat out of the bag last Jan 2020 via tweet
“I don’t know if you know this, but all shows on television have a writers room,” Perry said in a video shared to Instagram and Twitter as he panned over his scripts.

“Most of the time, there are 10 people, 12 or whatever that write on these television shows. Well, I have no writer’s room. Nobody writes any of my work. I write it all.”
USA TODAY had shared some of the public’s sharp displeasure when Perry celebrated not having a writer’s room. Though some appreciated his work ethic, others questioned how the voice of one black male could represent the countless black female characters’ perspectives he writes about.
“….Being in a place like Atlanta and owning the largest studio but saying nah I’m good. Yalllll!” tweeted @ItsTiaWilliams
