Beloved Atlanta News Anchor Jovita Moore Passes Away Months After Brain Cancer Diagnosis!

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we inform you all of the recent passing of longtime television news anchor Jovita Moore after a short battle with cancer!

According to CNN Jovita, 53 passed Thursday evening after being diagnosed with brain cancer back in April. The devastating news was announced on Friday morning by the WBS station, as both fans and celebrities took to social media to share their condolences.

“Jovita died overnight, seven months after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer,” the station’s statement said.

“Back in April doctors discovered two masses on Jovita’s brain. After surgery, they diagnosed her with glioblastoma, the most common type of brain cancer.’

Jobita worked with Channel 2 Action News for well over 20 years as the evening newscast anchor. Prior to that she began her career working in news stations in Memphis, Fayetteville and Arkansas.

Reports read that Jovitais survived by her mother and two young children.
