Naya Rivera’s Family Wins Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Ventura County For 2020 Tragedy!

Cousins!

No never happened I’m here by myselfIt’s been a little over a year since the passing of beloved actress Naya Rivera and the pain that her family is dealing with is still more present than ever.

As we continue to keep Naya’s loved ones in our prayers, her family is taking action within a wrongful death lawsuit against Ventura County following the 2020 tragedy.

According to Radar Online, Naya’s ex Ryan Dorsey claims the county failed to provide adequate safety measures to her and their son before they set out on their boat trip last year.

Despite the county’s dispute against the claims and request for a judge to block the lawsuit it has been denied. Dorsey now has the potential to sue for millions in punitive damages.

Official court documents reads Dorsey’s forwarded claims that the boa was, “not equipped with a safely accessible ladder, adequate rope, an anchor, a radio or any security mechanisms to prevent swimmers from being separated from their boats, nor any flotation or life saving devices.”

He states that there were no warning signs of dangerous conditions pertaining to use of the lake, and that the person who rented the boat to his Naya did not warn either to wear a life vest. The county has denied all stated claims.

As we previously reported Naya had rented a pontoon boat for a day trip in Lake Piru alongside her son in 2020. It has been indicated that a few hours after their departure, her son was found sleeping alone on the boat she was nowhere to be found.

An intensive search was conducted and her body was eventually recovered.
