Ashanti Speaks On Viral Hugging Moment Between Her And Nelly As Fans Question Does She Want That Old Thang Back, “I Haven’t Seen Or Spoken To Him Since We Broke Up”


Last night on Instagram live Fat Joe got the gang all together to do an official recap of this week’s epic Verzuz battle!

Joe, Ja Rule, Remy Ma and Ashanti shared a bunch of laughs and prospectives about the night’s festivities while clearing the air on the biggest elephant in the room of Nelly moon walking across the stage to get a little hug.

During the live Ashanti giggled and shared that the moment was brief and completely positive, also noting that she hadn’t seen or spoken to him since they broke up over five years ago and that she had no clue that he was going to be at the showcase.

“Listen, there’s nothing happening,” she said on Live. “This is the crazy part. I had no idea he was going to be there. I haven’t seen him or spoken to him since we broke up. I don’t know if it’s six years or something, so I didn’t know what to expect.”

“I saw him walking. I seen him move you out the way, Joe,” Ashanti continues. That’s the crazy thing, wasn’t nothing said,” she said. “I seen him walking, his eyes got big, I didn’t know what to expect. It was positive.”

Though Nelly is officially on the market after a recent breakup with his long time girlfriend, Ashanti has confirmed that she is not single.

“Listen, I’m a very positive person. I’m very private. I wish him the best and all of that good stuff.”

Nelly and Ashanti has dated for 10

years and had broken up unexpectedly to fans.

“It’s a lot of stuff that happened, a lot of stuff unresolved. A lot of gray area. A lot of confusion. That’s all I’m saying! A lot of stuff happened. They hate to hear that part, right? They want to hear, ‘what’s that old thing?’ They don’t want to hear about all the stuff that happened in between. Don’t worry, I ain’t gon’ tell you.”
