Parents of small children especially; we can’t stress enough the importance of investigating your children’s candy. Within today’s day and age you just never know what to expect really.

According to the #NewYorkPost a New Jersey mom is in complete shock after discovering a small bag of heroin mixed in her son’s candy bag last week Friday.

Sources have indicated that the mom investigated the bag of treats after her two son’s ages 7 and 11 attended an early Halloween party with the theme of “ Trunk or Treat!”

She tells officials that she found the heroin wrapped in a small plastic bag with a stamp of the infamous comic book character named Deadpool.

“I had looked at it closer and I was like: ‘Wait, that’s not candy. When I saw ‘Deadpool,’ I was like, ‘What is that?’”

The mom who wants to remain anonymous, states she recognized Deadpool because of her son’s love for the fictional character.

Reports read that the Jersey mom has since then handed the drugs over to authorities. Police officials then tested the small bag of white powder and confirmed that it was in fact heroin.

Sources have confirmed that there is an active investigation underway upon where the drugs came from exactly.

“Parents and guardians should be vigilante while Trick or Treating with their children,” states May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland in a forwarded statement.

“And if at all possible do not let them consume any candy until a thorough inspection has been completed after returning home.”
