An Oklahoma male resident has recently been been both arrested and charged with first-degree rape after reportedly impregnating his girlfriend that has been identified as being only 12 years old!

Juan Miranda-Jara, 24, was arrested on July 14 after the young girl went into labor reports People

Tulsa Police Department confirms that Juan brought the girl to a local hospital for her to deliver the baby.

It has been indicated that the police were alerted and shortly arrived on the scene. Sources have confirmed that Juan reportedly revealed to investigators that he was the biological father of the baby.

He allegedly told officers that he has been “in a relationship” with girl since October of last year.

0The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16. “They walked in just like any other couple would excited to deliver their newborn child,” says Oklahoma Officer Danny Bean to local news.

Reports read Juan believed he was going home with the young girl and their new born child, not even evaluating that his actions were completely illegal. Officials state that they “don’t believe this is incest at this time.”

“We don’t get this kind of call every day.” Officer Bean says, “It certainly was a surprise for everyone involved.”

There is currently a police investigation underway. Juan was arraigned on Tuesday and appointed a public defender. Online records show he has entered a not guilty plea. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 26 of this year.

Juan is currently being held on $50,000 bond.
