Miya Ponsetto also known as Soho Karen has officially been indicted following the senseless December 2020 incident where she wrongfully accused a Black teen for stealing her cellphone

The 22 year old has been charged by a grand jury on Wednesday for, 2 felony counts of unlawful imprisonment in the 2nd degree as a hate crime including 2 misdemeanor counts of aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child,” reports TMZ.

Miya’s attorney Paul D’Emila pleaded not guilty on her behalf and stated, “instead of helping to foster a civil and enlightened resolution to an unfortunate incident between two young people.”

“DA Vance chose a craven and opportunistic path in indicting, with felony hate crime charges.”

She continues by saying that the charges were overdone and shameful.

Within the now viral video of the December incident Miya can be seen attacking Keyon at the Arlo Hotel located in Soho. She’s due back in court October.

14 year old Keyon’s parents have issued a forwarded statement following Miya’s indictment saying that she was glad her dad was present at the time because who knows what could’ve transpired.
