Just when you thought it was safe the multi talented and hyphenated mogul Tyler Perry is back at it again with the back at it again as he’s currently in the works of developing a prequel series based on his iconic character of Madea!

’Mabel’ is said to depict the early life of the legendary, hilarious and take no mess grandmother.

According to ET, the series is currently in development with the premium cable network of Showtime.

Sources have confirmed that despite Tyler playing the role of Madea for the last twenty years he’s sticking true to his 2018 announced retirement and will not be staring within the series.

” I just don’t want to be her age, playing her.”

Mabel will take place in the early 70s era within Atlanta staring a 20 plus year old Madea as her original, smart, fierce and charismatic self.

Tyler and Tim Palen have been named the series creators and executive producers alongside writers JaNeika and JaSheika James
