A newly structured de-escalation program designed to properly train Newark, New Jersey police officials has proven its effectiveness.

The program’s objective is to provide officials with the necessary tools needed to assist residents during a hostile situations.

Within a year of much uncertainty and heightened challenges Newark officials are currently being recognized for not figuring a single bullet in 2020.

According to News 12 crime within the city of Newark decreased by 6%. Followed by officials removing over 490 illegal weapons off the street.

Sources have confirmed that there was a 7% increase of illegal weapons confiscated within comparison to 2019.

Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose reveals that 2020 was the most difficult year of his entire 34 year career due to the rise of Covid-19 and countless anti police brutality protests around the world.

“It was the unknown. It was the unknown that you didn’t know with this disease that you were coming here every day, and these police officers and firefighters going out there, and we didn’t know,” states Ambrose.
