Actress and comedian and Tiffany Haddish has officially come forward to speak on why she decided to turn down the Pre-Grammys hosting job!
According to TMZ, after being notified that she was requested to host the Grammys pre-show Tiffany was also informed that she wasn’t going to be paid and that all expenses would have to come out of her very own pocket.
Sources have confirmed that the Academy advised Tiffany that hair, makeup and wardrobe cost would be of her own responsibility.
“I don’t know if this might mean I might not get nominated ever again, but I think it’s disrespectful.” Tiffany states. She has also been nominated for a Grammy this year for her Ncomedy special, ‘Black Mitzvah,’ on Netflix . The comedian-actress was also nominated for a Grammy last year.
Reports read that a spokesperson for the Grammy has indicated that since the pre-show isn’t projected through CBS but instead a non profit so the hosts aren’t opted to receive payment.
“How many other people have they done that to? It’s like a guy asking you on a date but telling you that you have to pay for it,” says Tiffany.
Further reports read that the Grammys have noted that Tiffany’s decision will not have any effect on her future nominations.
