Cousins!
Rapper Lil Wayne is currently in hot water as he has recently been hit with some serious federal charges for possession of firearm and gun ammunition!
According to TMZ , Wayne received a charge for 1 count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
Sources have confirmed that the case derives from a December 2019 incident where federal agents apparently searched Wayne’s plane within Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.
Reports read that Wayne’s legal team has come forward to argue that he was completely cleared to leave the plane despite officials findings of reported guns and drugs on the plane.
However federal official have indicated that they believe Wayne was in fact, in possession of a weapon and ammunition.
Wayne has been charged with possessing a handgun within his luggage. His attorney Howard Srebnick says, “There is no allegation that he ever fired it, brandished it, used it or threatened to use it. There is no allegation that he is a dangerous person.”
He continues, “The charge is that because he was convicted of a felony in the past, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.”
Wayne is scheduled to appear in court sometime in December.
