Music mogul and businessman Sean Diddy Combs is doing his part to insure a brighter future for the youth by establishing a charter school with remote learning!
According to Complex , Diddy alongside Dr. Steve Perry have recently announced the official launch of Capital Prep Bronx. The educational institution will function as a charter school with the objective of providing high quality curriculum to inner city students.
Sources have confirmed that the school will be located in the Co-Op city section within The Bronx. The inaugural semester will take place September 8th with a fully remote schedule.
As of right now roughly around 200 6th and 7th graders are enrolled. They plan to expand the school’s occupancy to 650 students ranging between 6th and 11th grade.
“My dream has always been to provide children in communities like the Bronx the high quality education they deserve,” Diddy states within a recent press release.
“We’re not just teaching reading, math and coding. We are grooming future leaders that will change their communities and the world.”
Capital Bronx is one of three Capital Preparatory School networks including, Capital Prep Harbor in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Capital Prep Harlem. Both Diddy and Perry are working towards expansion.
“We couldn’t be more excited to open our next school together in Co-Op city, a community rooted in social justice and diversity,” says Perry. “While opening up remote at first is bittersweet, we have developed a best in class approach to online learning we are excited to implement with our new families. The Capital Prep college prep model is perfectly poised to transition into the digital space and we are excited to deliver a rigorous education to this inaugural class of scholars.”
