Beloved actor and legend Chadwick Boseman ‘s hometown of Anderson, South Carolina is currently working on a statue to honor his legacy!

According to TMZ , a spokesperson for mayor Terrence Roberts has issued a statement assuring that a permanent public tribute on behalf of Chadwick is underway.

Sources have confirmed that the City has been in communication with numerous artists to help brainstorm different ideas and that they want the input of the public as well. It has been indicated that the tribute will consist of a scripture, mural and a variation of artistic elements.

There is currently a Change.Org petition making its rounds advocating for the removal of a confederate memorial located in front of Anderson City courthouse that residents would like to remove and replace with Chad.

However it has been noted that the decision to remove or keep the original statue is not up to the Mayor and requires two third votes from the state’s legislation.
