Please join us in sending our deepest prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones of high school basketball star #BrandonHendricks that recently lost his life to a stray bullet.

The incident took place around midnight on Saturday evening near Davidson Avenue in Morris Heights of the Bronx, reports NBC News.

Brandon was attending a birthday barbecue for his friend when the shooting took place. Sources have confirmed that the 17 year old was discovered by officials suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. He was officially pronounced dead Monday at St. Barnabas hospital.

Brandon is remembered by many as being an excellent student and talented Basketball player with a good heart and his head on straight. Recently graduating from James Monroe High-school to attend Saint John’s in the fall, Brandon had major plans for his future. It’s literally heartbreaking to see a life cut so short.

Cousins, let’s continue to pray for his family and utilize instances like these to understand that no form of violence is ever with it.
