As we previously reported Ahmaud’s death took place nearly three months ago on Feb. 23 however it wasn’t until Greg was arrested yesterday that he admitted to recognizing the victim for an alleged past burglary and had planned to conduct a citizen’s arrest.

Reports read that when Ahmaud was in high school, he was sentenced to five years probation as a first offender for charges of carrying a weapon on campus and multiple counts of obstructing a law enforcement officer. Ahmaud was ultimately convicted of probation violation in 2018 where he faced charges for shoplifting.

McMicahel’s previous investigation and interaction with Ahmaud changes the dimensions of the case. Ahmaud family’s lawyer Lee states without this highlighted information,“the case would’ve been no billed to a grand jury and the McMichaels would’ve gotten away with murder.”
