CNN reports; the incident took place Sunday morning around 3AM on Canal Street near the French Quarter area. Sources have confirmed that Police officials received a call from dispatch pertaining to a disturbance in the area.
Reports read that when officials arrived they heard multiple gunshots while discovering numerous victims in need of immediate medical attention. It has been indicated that 10 of the victims were rushed to a local medical center and an additional victim later walked into a nearby hospital.
Officials state, “An individual was detained near the scene,” but there has been no indication of their role in the incident.
