Three year old Kamile “Cupcake” McKinney has officially been laid rest amongst family, friends and community members as they mourn the loss of an angel gone far to soon while seeking closure of a horrific ordeal.
According to #CNN Kamile’s home going service was held on Sunday Oct. 27th within New Beginning Christian Ministry Church in #Birmingham , #Alabama church just days after her body was discovered. Sources have stated that her small white casket was draped with beautiful pink and purple flowers and balloons. An original painting of a smaller version of Kamile surrounded by cupcakes also rested in front of her casket.

Kamile’s Uncle Steven spoke greatly of her during the service and stated how much her loved her and will truly miss her inocennt presence. He told her parents April Thomas and Dominic McKinney that if they ever needed anything that he was but only one call away. “Even though it may be sad here for us … not having her here and needing her here, God has gained an angel in his kingdom.’
Pastor Sylvester L. Wilson stated within his eulogy with a heavy heart that Kamile was “an angel sent from heaven.”
“God came back just to get his angel,” Wilson told the congregation, “because one little baby that lived to be 3 years old could bring this whole city, this whole country, this whole world together.”
Sources have confirmed that Kamile was laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery.
Both Patrick Stallworth, 39, and Derick Brown, 29, have been arrested and charged with capital murder of a victim younger than 14.
They are both currently being held at Jefferson County Jail without bond.
