We love to see it! Remy Ma legacy in Hip Hop isn’t going unnoticed as the Mayor of Newark has honored her with an official proclamation for her decades worth of contributions!
The Bronx, New York native was presented with a proclamation on behalf of the city of Newark for her impact in music and the celebration of the next chapter of her career.
On behalf of Mayor Ras J Baraka, his Deputy chief of staff presented Remy with the honor. “When we talk about women, Black women especially—all that we have to endure, let our strength not be measured by what we have to endure. But what we can create, what we can build in the communities that we can move forward.”
The recognition came in partnership with the City of Newark, for Remy’s packed out fan experience, ‘One Night with Reminisce,’ on Friday September 25th at CityPlex theater.
Longtime fans, also known as the Remy Mafia, and members of the industry came together to experience Remy’s highly anticipated project, ‘Alimony,’ in real time.
The six-track project reflects on Remy’s estranged marriage and serves as a musical reflection of closing the chapter on that union.
