Michael Wright’s Family Speaks Out Following Actor’s Passing At 70

The family of beloved actor Michael Wright is speaking out after his passing at age 70!

In emotional tributes shared on Instagram, Wright’s family remembered him as more than the talented actor fans knew from The Five Heartbeats, The Wanderers, The Principal, Streamers and other projects. His children shared that while the world may remember his raw talent and unforgettable characters, to them he will always be a wonderful husband and father.

His wife, Susan Wright, also shared a heartfelt statement mourning her husband and describing him as a devoted father, grandfather, loved one, friend, and extraordinary artist whose work touched generations.

“Michael was a husband, a father (Manon Wright, Byron Barr, Brittney Briggs, Brianna Barr, Sir Barr, a grandfather (Yoko), loved one, a friend, and an extraordinary artist whose work touched generations.”

Susan asks for privacy and respect for their family as they begin the grieving process.

“We respectfully ask the public, members of the media, and those who knew and admired Michael to please allow our family the privacy and grace to grieve during this incredibly difficult time.”

“We also ask that people refrain from sharing unconfirmed information or speaking on behalf of our family.”
