WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, also known to fans as Mankind has announced that he is officially cutting ties with World Wrestling Entertainment, citing the company’s continued association with Donald Trump and his administration!

In a statement shared on Instagram, Foley expressed long-standing concerns about WWE’s relationship with Trump, saying the situation had reached a breaking point.

“While I have been concerned about WWE’s close relationship with Donald Trump for several months — especially in light of his administration’s ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants (and pretty much anyone who “looks like an immigrant”)

Foley also noted that it was Trump’s insensitive comments in response to beloved Hollywood Icons Rob Reiner and his wife Michele tragic death.

“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” wrote Trump in a statement shared across social media.

“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before.”

“May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

The WWE Hall of Famer shared his disgust of Trump’s statements on Instagram, “- reading the President’s incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death is the final straw for me.”

Foley wrote that he no longer feels comfortable representing a company he believes continues to align itself with leadership he views as harmful, adding that recent developments were “the final straw” in his decision.

The wrestling icon confirmed that he has informed WWE talent relations that he will not be making any appearances for the company while Trump remains in office.

“I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy. Last night, I informed WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office.”

Foley also revealed that he will not be renewing his Legends deal when it expires in June, despite expressing gratitude for his history with the organization and the opportunities it provided throughout his career.

“Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June. I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, “I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more.””

Sources note that Foley has been a vocal critic of Trump for years and publicly spoke out against him ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

According to Fox News, WWE’s political ties have remained visible, including Trump’s past involvement with the company and WWE leadership’s appearances at White House events tied to sports and fitness initiatives.

Foley concluded his statement by emphasizing that while his love for WWE remains, his decision is rooted in personal values and conscience, making it clear this chapter is about standing firm on what he believes, even when it comes at a personal cost.
