Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are reportedly clapping back after a $3 million lawsuit accused Jada of threatening one of Will’s longtime friends, Bilaal Salaam, over an incident said to have taken place in 2021.

Here’s the backstory:

According to the complaint, the drama allegedly unfolded during a private birthday event three years ago. Bilaal claims he was pressured into signing an NDA after discussing aspects of Jada’s personal life. He also accuses Jada of issuing a chilling warning, saying he could “end up missing or catch a bullet” if he continued talking.

The lawsuit paints the moment as tense, intimidating, and meant to silence him.

But the Smiths say that entire narrative is pure fiction.

According to PEOPLE, a source close to Will and Jada calls the lawsuit nothing more than a money grab by someone looking to profit off their name.

“It’s a money-ploy by an opportunistic individual,” the source said, dismissing the allegations as “a lot of crap.” The couple reportedly feels confident in their legal position and maintains they’ve done absolutely nothing wrong.
