A case of sexual assault and human trafficking has rocked Hartford, Connecticut as authorities arrested seven men in connection with the mistreatment of three teenage girls!
According to NBC News, police have confirmed that, the three 14-year-old girls were lured from a sleepover after talking to a group of men they met online. Officials say the girls were taken to multiple locations, including private homes and a hotel, where they were sexually assaulted and forced into trafficking activities over a two-day period. Investigators revealed the girls were given marijuana and alcohol in an attempt to manipulate and control them.
Obtained warrants detail, that on Thursday, May 1, the three minors left a sleepover in Bristol to hang out with friends. They were taken to the Hartford home of 19-year-old Donovan Dunn, where police say they were sexually assaulted by Dunn and four other men.
The girls later reported that they were dropped off at 25 Hillyer St. One victim claimed the men never returned, leaving them stranded. Authorities say the teens were then transported to the Super 8 Hotel on West Service Road by two men, where they were sexually assaulted again in a hotel room.
Disturbingly, the warrants indicate that one of the men attempted to pay the girls after the assault.
One of the men have been identified as, Ahmad compton.
According to warrants, the 36 year old approached the girls after they had already been assaulted at multiple locations. When the girls told him they were 14, he reportedly said they looked 16 and would be treated as such.
Authorities say Compton raped all three girls and told them he was going to “get them business,” teaching them hand signals and explaining what they meant when interacting with other men.
The warrants describe how Compton promised the girls flip phones and guided them to certain locations, going so far as to trace a circle with his hands and declare that the girls were now in his “circle.” He then brought the teens to an apartment on Nelton Way, near Hillyer Street, instructing a man there to watch them and prevent them from leaving.
Over the course of three terrifying days, one of the girl’s mothers filed a missing persons report in Bristol. Authorities say that the search gained traction when one of the girls’ friends, who had spoken with Donovan Dunn, revealed they were taken to Hillyer Street.
The victims were eventually rescued after two of the girls’ aunts refused to ignore their disappearance. Locating the teens hiding in an apartment, the aunts brought them to safety, triggering a resulting in law enforcement immediate response.
The families began scoping out the neighborhood, refusing to wait while their young children were in danger. Sources state when Compton brought the girls to an apartment on Nelton Way, a witness spotted them and immediately notified one of the girls’ mothers.
The girls’ sisters arrived at the scene and found the teens hiding in a bedroom inside the apartment. The teens were transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for evaluation, ensuring they received both medical care and trauma support.
The seven men arrested in the case are identified as Ahmad Compton (36), James Williams (35), Bernard Mickens (38), Raheem Jones (50), Donovan Dunn (19), Tyrod Jackson (19), and Tahjay Wilson (20).
They now face a range of serious charges, including sex trafficking, first-degree sexual assault, commercial sexual abuse of a minor, unlawful restraint, and illegal sexual contact with a minor. Authorities warn that additional arrests may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
“All are being held on bond except Wilson; Compton and Williams on $1 million bonds, Mickens and Jones are being held on $750,000 bonds, Dunn on a $650,000 bond, and Jackson on a $250,000 bond, according to court records. Wilson was released after posting a $250,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Nov. 25,” reads reports from Law Enforcement Today.
Jackson was scheduled for a Nov. 19 court appearance, while Jones is to appear on Dec. 2, Williams on Dec. 3, Compton on Dec. 9, and Dunn on Dec. 10.
