A Newark, Delaware Amber Alert and desperate search for a missing toddler has taken a disturbing turn. Authorities have confirmed that 3-year-old Nola Dinkins is dead—and the person allegedly responsible is her own mother!
💔 “A White Man Took My Baby!” — But That Was a Lie
On Tuesday (June 10) 31-year-old Darrian Randle told police that her daughter Nola had been abducted at gunpoint by a white man driving a black SUV in Bear, Delaware around 7pm. Her story triggered a multi-agency search, with FBI involvement and urgent public alerts across multiple states.
But just hours later, police began poking holes in her story—and it all unraveled, reports NBC-10 News.
🧾 The Real Story: Beating, Panic, and a Disturbing Cover-Up
According to charging documents, Randle confessed to repeatedly beating her daughter 15–20 times with a belt at her boyfriend’s home in North East, Maryland, after the toddler allegedly had an accident in her pants. She says that after striking the young child multiple times, the toddler fell to the ground.
When she realized Nola was unresponsive, she panicked.
Instead of calling for help, she placed the little girl’s body in a suitcase, hid it in a park, and called her boyfriend, Cedrick Britten, 44, to dispose of it. Police say Britten moved the suitcase to a wooded area in Baltimore.
💼 Body Found in Suitcase, Wrapped in Plastic
Thanks to Britten’s cooperation with investigators, Nola’s body was discovered wrapped in plastic inside a suitcase in a wooded area off a dead-end road.
While officials are awaiting autopsy results for full confirmation, authorities say the remains are consistent with that of a small child matching Nola’s description.
🚨 Charges & Consequences
Darrian Randle is now facing serious charges, including:
- First- and Second-Degree Murder
- Child Abuse Resulting in Death
- Falsifying a Police Report and other related offenses in connection to the death of her daughter
She is currently being held on $1 million bond.
Cedrick Britten has been charged as an accessory, along with failure to report a child’s death, and is under house arrest on $75,000 bond.
🗣️ Community Shocked, Demands Justice
