Noir Nation, the courtroom has been rocked this week as Dawn Richard took the stand and revealed some of the darkest moments behind the scenes of the ongoing Diddy trial.
Dawn testified she personally witnessed Sean Combs physically assault Cassie — striking her with a frying pan during a violent episode, reports the NY POST. The singer and former Danity Kane star described the chilling atmosphere surrounding the incident:
“He came downstairs screaming, belligerent, asking where his food was, and proceeded to hit her over the head, kicked her and beat her to the ground in front of us,” Dawn testified.
She recalled being in the kitchen area of the home as Cassie cooked eggs. Dawn testified that Diddy came downstairs and demanded to know where his eggs were.
“He proceeded to come over to her and took the skillet with the eggs in it and tried to hit her over the head with it, and she fell to the ground,” Dawn said.
“It didn’t seem that it hit her fully.” She explained, the pan didn’t hit Cassie as she dropped to the ground anticipating the hit.
“She went into the fetal position.”
Her testimony exposes a side of Diddy’s world marked not just by alleged physical abuse but by intimidation tactics that sought to silence victims and witnesses.
Dawn says that the 2009 incident occurred in front of her and fellow Dirty Money member KKalenna Harper.
She says the next day they were summoned to his home as Diddy locked them in his recording studio and threatened them.
“He said what we saw was passion and what lovers in passionate relationships do,” Dawn recalled. “He said [Ventura] was OK and it would be in our best interests if we didn’t say anything.”
Dawn recalled him hinting at a death threat.
She testified that Diddy advised them both that,”where he was from, people go missing if they talk.”
The court was shown the severity of the threats Dawn described, painting a picture of a toxic environment where speaking out could come with dangerous consequences.
Cassie, whose relationship with Diddy has been under intense scrutiny throughout the trial, has repeatedly alleged abuse — and Dawn’s testimony corroborates some of those claims with firsthand detail.
