Lil Wayne has vowed to never perform during the Super Bowl halftime as he is no longer interested!

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne expressed feeling misled by the organization after being seemingly overlooked for this year’s halftime show in his hometown of New Orleans for Kendrick Lamar.

“They stole that feeling. I don’t want to do it. It was perfect.”

The 42-year-old went on to detail the steps he took to ensure his slot at this year’s show. Lil Wayne claims that the organization encouraged him to be more forthcoming as a public figure leading up to their announcement.

To perform it’s a bunch of things they’re going to tell you to do and not do, a**es to kiss and not kiss. If you noticed, I was a part of things I’ve never been a part of like all-white parties. I’m doing sh*t with Tom Brady. That was all for that.”

The Young Money rapper continued,  “You ain’t never seen me in them types of venues. I ain’t Drake. I ain’t out there smiling like that everywhere. I’m in the stu’, smokin’ and recording.

As we previously reported, the NFL announced back in September across social media that Kendrick has been named the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show headliner. Lil Wayne claims that he received an apology from someone affiliated with the NFL noting that they aren’t in charge of the selection process.

All of a sudden, according to them, they got curved,” Wayne said. “So, I’m going to have to just settle with whatever they say.”

As we previously reported Wayne shared his feelings of disappointment in a post on Instagram to his fans. “That hurt a lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown. For just automatically mentally putting myself in that position, like someone told me that was my position.”

“I thought there was nothing better than that spot, that stage, and that platform in my city. It broke me. I’m just trying to put me back together.”

Despite Kendrick’s explosive February 9th performance, Lil Wayne says he didn’t; see it as he was busy enjoying hanging out with fellow rapper Lil Twist. “Every time I looked, it was nothing that made me want to go inside and see what was going on.”
