Charlamagne Tha God is calling out folks regarding double standards following Nelly’s performing at Trump’s inauguration. Charlemagne says that folks should keep the same energy towards former President Barack Obama after he was seen chuckling with Trump at President Carter’s funeral.
In a recently aired episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’ Charlamagne addressed online users’ comments dragging artists such as Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, and Soulja Boy’s decision to perform at this year’s inauguration ceremony as opposed to the lack of outrage they’ve displayed for fellow politicians.
“The hypocrisy that people display for who they like and they don’t like is mind-blowing to me,” said Charlamagne. “There is no way you are more mad at these rappers performing at these inauguration events than you are the elected officials who told you us that Trump was a fascist, threat to our democracy, a danger to our country, and the Constitution. They likened him to [Adolf] Hitler, but Biden just welcomed him back to the White House.”
“Barack Obama was sharing a good laugh with him at the funeral of President [Jimmy] Carter,” he continued. “We know why the rappers did what they did. We know why they’re doing it. They got paid. What’s the politicians’ excuse for normalizing Trump?”
