‘Euphoria’ leading lady Zendaya is sharing with fans how she deals with tough moments on set as they are set to begin filming for their highly anticipated third season!
Appearing in a recently debuted installment of Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors’ featuring Zendaya and Nicole Kidman, both actresses spoke freely about their journey in the entertainment industry. In the midst of their conversation Zendaya kept details tight regarding the new season, while expressing how draining mentally, emotionally and physically to portray her role of Rue.
“We’re supposed to do another season. I’ve only done two, but it feels like five. One season of ‘Euphoria” is like, “Phew!”
The 28-year-old explained that she tries her best to not stay in the character’s headspace as it can weigh heavily on her, ” I still have my Rue scars.”
“You get so used to a character. It feels like a skin that you just slip on. Rue just falls into me. I’m not thinking about it so much. It’s just like, “Oh, she’s here now.”
Rue is a teenage drug addict who has faced various circumstances throughout her childhood.
“I’m still learning, but I do know that I like to have fun on my job. I don’t want to be miserable just because the character’s miserable, said Zendaya.
“On ‘Euphoria,’ we’d have really, really tough days. I’m like, “OK, gotta go cry and knock down a door real quick,” and then I’ll come back like, “Hey, Cheesecake Factory? What are we getting for lunch?” I try my best to leave them at work and go home and live my life and be a person.
She adds, “While it was emotionally and physically draining, it was so rewarding. I was so proud of it. It connected with people.”
The fan-favorite drama follows the lives and struggles of high school students as they undergo issues with friendship, drugs, alcohol, and sex.
‘Euphoria’ is set to debut in 2026.
