Cousins! A single tweet has left social media in shambles as rumors have begun to circulate that Capri Suns will no longer be sold in pouches but instead in plastic bottles!
Rumors originally circulated on Twitter (X) on Thursday, August 29 as photos of Capri Suns displayed within a case of plastic bottles began to trend. Claims of the company planning to move towards a new marketing strategy received mixed reviews as social media users voiced their disappointment.
Many users shared how the signature pouches served as a staple of their childhood and how changing the technique of stabbing their straw into the drink as opposed to twisting a bottle cap simply didn’t provide the same feeling. “The ONLY way to drink a Capri Sun is with the straw that’s impossible to penetrate the pouch! That’s it,” wrote one user.
Unfortunately, things didn’t end there as folks continued to create think pieces and videos online threatening to boycott Capri Sun. However as rumors continued to pile up, the company assured that the rumors were nothing more than hearsay, reports the NY Post.
“Don’t believe everything you read on the internet – we’d never disrespect the pouch and they’re here to stay!”
