Megan Thee Stallion To Host This Year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)

Cousins! MTV’s Video Music Awards just got turned up another hundred degrees following news that Megan Thee Stallion is set to take center stage as this year’s host!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, this will be Megan’s very first time hosting an award show within her music career. It shall be a busy night for the Houston, Texas native as she has been nominated for a total of five VMAs including Best Collaboration with GloRilla, and Best Hip Hop.

Megan previously took home a signature moon man in 2020 for the category of best Hip Hop with her hit song ‘Savage’. She has also won two additional VMAs and three Grammys under her belt throughout the years.

The 29-year-old previously hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ and co-hosted an airing of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’

According to an official press release this year performers will be Lenny Kravitz, Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRIlla, Rauw Alejandro, Sabrina Carpenter and more.

This year serves as the fourth consecutive year that one or more rappers have hosted the show, report Billboard. Doja Cat put on her hosting hat in 2021 followed by Nicki Minaj, Jack Harlow, and LL Cool J in 2022—Nicki returned in 2023 as a solo host.

Diddy made history in 2005 as the show’s first rapper to ever host.

The 2024 VMA is set to take place live at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on September 11th. Fans at home can tune into the night’s festivities at 8 PM EST on MTV and VH1.
