Roc-A-Fella Records was one of the biggest labels in the 90s/2000s. The label not only provided quality music, but also incorporated multi influences  a clothing, television and film. Fast forward many decades later, and it has left an imprint in Hip-Hop culture. So, you would think it would have a biopic right now. Unfortunately, it has not. But that could all change, under one condition. 

In an exclusive interview with The Jasmine Brand, hip-hop mogul Dame Dash confirms that he is open to doing a Roc-A-Fella Records biopic if it is on his ‘terms.’ 

“There’s a time and a place for everything so if the time and the place is a place I don’t own and a time that I don’t enjoy, then I’m not doing it. But on my terms I’m gonna do everything, but it got to be on my terms or it doesn’t get done.’

When asked to clarify, Dash explains he would need control over the project. 

“I’ve controlled everything else, how can I not control my life story If I’m alive? That would be a contradiction of the whole story.”

Now, if it comes down to a Roc-A-Fella biopic, according to Dame, the person playing him has to be “superiorly cool.”
