Cousins! Today’s kids might never know how lit our Myspace days once were but they’ll definitely get a taste following Instagram’s latest update that allows users to add music to their profiles!
According to USA TODAY, the new update went live on Thursday allowing social media users across the platform to add their favorite tunes to their profiles. It has been stated that the new feature is to help users add a vibe to their page for viewers.
As of today, the new feature is only available on Instagram mobile. It appears next to the bio section of each Instagram user’s profile and can be changed in settings.
How the new music feature in Instagram works
To add a song, navigate to your profile on Instagram and tap “edit profile.” Scroll down and there should be a new “Music” option in the list. Tap to add and search for an artist or song.
After selecting a preferred tune, it will suggest a 30-second clip of the chosen song, similar to the function when adding a song to an Instagram Reel or Story. Change it by moving the selector to a different part of the song, if desired. After tapping “done,” and the song will appear on your profile.
To change or remove the song, go back into “edit profile” or simply tap on the song on your profile. A menu will pop up, allowing you to remove the song or change it to another one.
