Cousins! In less than twenty-four hours since President Joe Biden‘s shocking announcement that he will no longer be running for office in the upcoming election, Vice President Kamala Harris has made history by racking up over 80 million dollars in donations!
According to CNBC News, Kamala has secured the largest fundraising efforts in presidential history. Reports read that she raised $49.6 million in grassroots donations in less than a day.
It has been indicated that the Democratic Party has extended its full support to Kamala in hopes of beating Republican Party member Donald Trump and his running mate Senator JD Vance.
As of Monday afternoon, the Democratic Party has processed $100 million in online donations for Kamala’s campaign. Both the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees and the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers have voiced that they are backing Kamala at the top of the Democratic ticket.
“Vice President Harris is seasoned, tough and tenacious,” AFSCME President Lee Saunders said. “She is a dynamic leader who has been a pro-worker champion throughout her years in elected office. She understands that unions and the working class are the engines of our economy. And she has a deep respect and appreciation for the work AFSCME members do to strengthen our communities.”
“IBEW members know Vice President Harris and have engaged with her over the last four years as she’s visited our job sites, union halls and training facilities,” the union’s International President Kenneth W. Cooper said.
“She has listened to us, and we stand confident that she will continue this administration’s extraordinary record on behalf of working people when she is sworn into office next January.”
Following Biden’s surprising exit from the election race, he declared his full support of Kamala.
“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote on Twitter.
“My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
