Cousins! Cory Hardrict is opening up about his divorce from Tia Mowry following fifteen years of marriage!
While speaking at this year’s American Black Film Festival, Cory expressed the emotional roller coaster he endured after he and Tia decided to part ways, along with living away from his children.
Cory opened the conversation by reflecting on the stereotype that Black men are supposed to have a tough interior and not show any emotion despite what they’re going through in life.
“It’s tough when it feels like you’re going through something alone and no one understands, and no one’s there for you,” Cory said. “Especially as a man, as a Black—-and everyone’s like ‘you know he tuff. He’s strong.”
The actor was fully transparent with ABFF attendees as he admitted to crying himself to sleep every night for a long time.
“It was a year and a half crying myself to sleep every night.”
Cory expressed that his sense of normality had changed since his split from Tia and that the process of accepting a new reality made him stronger.
“By the grace of God, I’m here, and I’m still going.”
As we previously reported Tia broke the news to fan in 2022 on social media that she had filed for divorce while citing irreconcilable differences.
“l have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children.”
“I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
Their divorce was officially finalized in 2023
