Storm Reid Says She Is Disappointed But Not Surprised By Season 3 Delay Of ‘Euphoria’

Cousins! ‘Euphoria’ cast member Storm Reid shares that much like fans of the beloved HBO series, she is also disappointed by production being postponed. However, she is not at all shocked by news of the delay!

In an exclusive interview with Variety on Thursday, March 28th Storm says, “I would hope the viewers.”

“I think we should handle the show with care. We’ve put our hearts and soul into it.”

When asked if she was surprised by the news of a delay in production Storm replied, “Yes and no. We would all hope to be able to go back tomorrow, but there are logistics that have to be figured out. So even though I’m a little disappointed, I’m not surprised.”

“I do know if we do go back that I am sure we will continue to be authentic and represent the real world,”Storm added while reflecting in the series’ impact on conversations regarding mental health and addiction.

An announcement confirming production delays for season three of ‘Euphoria’ was issued on Monday, March 24th.

“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety at the time. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

Reports read that production had originally been pushed back due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Including the tragic passing of ‘Euphoria’ cast member Angus Cloud, who portrayed the role of Fez.

Euphoria originally debuted in 2019 on HBO, starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer, with other cast members including Colman Domingo, Lukas Gage, Maude Apatow, Barbie Ferreira, Alexa Demi, Dominic Fike, Nika King, Eric Dane and Javon Walton.

Season two debuted in January 2022 with record-breaking viewership. In November of that year, HBO confirmed that the show’s third season was expected to premiere in 2025.
