According to Deadline, news of Carl’s passing was confirmed by his family within a forwarded statement on Friday afternoon. “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers.”
“He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. … Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life.”
Carl recently celebrated his 76th birthday on January 14th.
The issued statement continues, “ Through his contributions to film, television, the arts, and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend.”
With an extensive career in Hollywood, Carl has racked up over 75 film and television credits in the last five decades.
Rest in peace Carl!
