Cousins! Following a little story time gone wrong Keri Hilson has officially extended an apology to Teairra Mari!
While appearing on Tank and J. Valentine RNB Money Podcast’, Keri shared a dated altercation she had with a fellow singer after a performance where she claims the unidentified woman didn’t show much interest.
“She didn’t want to be there and it was very obvious, and I felt disrespected by that,” said Keri without mentioning Teairra’s name. “So when they came to my dressing room backstage, I said something and we almost got to scrapping….it could’ve got real ugly.”
After video clips of Keri recalling the alleged instance made its rounds throughout social media, Teairra chimed in to say, “Y’all, people gotta leave me alone I don’t bother anybody, just leave me alone.!”
“So now, Keri! what’s up you wanna fight or do you not want to fight because I’m gonna whoop your a** when I see you I’m sick of you people bothering me! You had a whole different story when I was in your face you’re a liar b****,” wrote Teairra under a posted video of Keri via The Neighborhood Talk.
Apparently Teairra had also discussed the instance between her and Keri within a previous interview where she shared that the two of them communicated through the misunderstanding.
“I was getting calls because my cousin was watching my dog,” said Teairra in a 2010 interview on DJ Scream TV. “In the midst, I’m bobbing still, enjoying the show, actually. So, we go backstage and…I’m like, ‘Hey, how you doing? Nice show! Hi, how are you?’ and she looked at my hand.”
Teairra didn’t mention Keri’s name but refered to her as being “a little stanky.”
“If that happened again, I’d been slapped the b*tch.”
Keri reacted to Teairra’s tussle challenge to apologize by saying, “Well fellas, I guess the “I Ain’t Sayin’ No Names” segment didn’t work too well this time… Unfortunately, this did happen around 12-13 years ago. I actually never knew until I saw the previous post that you also told this story publicly.
“Listen…we were very young in our careers, I was remembering how I felt when it happened. But I don’t feel a way about this situation now. Since then, we’ve run into each other, apologized, partied together & gotten past that.”
Keri went on to apologize Teairra while explaining that she meant no harm. “I’m responding to this because I don’t wanna allow anything to bring us back to a place we’ve long passed. And since it was a public story that got connected to you in public, it deserves a public apology. I’m sorry for telling the story especially with the energy & hurtful words that I used.
“It was unnecessary. Because my feelings and energy at this point, in this present moment are nothing but love… no ill will or vitriol towards you. It’s an old story that I see now we’ve both told. I hope you’re doing well in this season & wishing you all the best in life.”
Teairra has not responded back to Keri’s apology at tbjs time.
