Cousins! Timbaland has extended an apology to Britney Spears as well as her fans following a controversial statement in regard to her recently released memoir!

The producer and legendary collaborator of Justin Timberlake was asked about Britney’s recent comments regarding the singers’ late 90s and early 2000s relationship and how it’s been making headlines lately.

As we previously reported Britney revealed that she had an abortion while dating Justin. She said that though she was excited about being pregnant at the time, Justin objected and said they were too young.

“I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl,’” said Timbaland when asked if Justin’s hit song ‘Cry Me A River’ was about Britney.

The Verzuz Co-owner’s comments didn’t go over to well with social media users as folks called Timbaland out labeling him misogynistic.

“I am irritated whenever I see a clip of Timbaland giving an interview. Saying a woman who was in a 13-year conservatorship should have a muzzle put on her because she can finally tell her story through a memoir is gross,” wrote a Twitter (X) user.

“Let it be known @Timbaland that it’s not just @britneyspears fans that want you to apologize..it’s women like myself who are not necessarily a fan of hers but know the importance of women’s rights. She was silenced long enough!”

On Tuesday night Timbaland appeared on Instagram live where he said,”I’m sorry to all the Britney fans, even to her.”

“You have a voice. You speak what you wanna to speak. Who am I to tell you what not to speak?”

“I was wrong for saying that,”said Timbaland as he explained that he respects women.
