Update: Husband To Bronx Day Care Owner Where A 1-Year-Old Boy Died Due To Fentanyl Exposure, Arrested In Mexico!

Cousins! Another arrest has been made in connection to a Bronx Day care center that left a young boy deceased and three other children hospitalized!

According to NBC News, the husband to Divino Nino daycare owner was arrested in Mexico earlier this week. A criminal complaint details that the last time the male was seen was on security surveillance footage on September 15th, the same day the tragic ordeal occurred.

It has been stated that Mexican state police officials and U.S Drug Enforcement Administration agents took the husband of Grei Mendez into custody on a bus headed towards Sinaloa.

Sources state that the male’s name has not yet been released to the public at this time.

Reports read that Grei, 36 was arrested alongside Carlisto Acevedo Brito, 41, and Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, 38 on charges of murder, manslaughter, assault, and additional drug charges. The three of them are said to have worked together dealing drugs within the daycare.

As we previously reported the children, who stayed at the daycare, ate something at around 1 p.m. and took a nap. When workers went to wake them up at 2:30 p.m., three were unconscious.

Officials of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York confirmed the that the team kept a kilogram of fentanyl at the center on the children’s sleeping mats.

Investigators discovered hidden sections in the floor of the 2707 Morris Ave in Kingsbridge located center within a room where the children took naps. A suspected drug and packing material was also found on the premises.

All four children are said to have suffered from a poisonous exposure to Fentanyl.

Fentanyl is identified as a synthetic opioid drug subscribed to individuals who have undergone severe pain. U.S officials warn that if the drug is abused or mixed with other drugs for example heroin, it can lead to an immediate overdose.
