Cousins! Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are joining forces again for a new single dropping soon!
“Bongos” featuring the Grammy Award-winning rappers will be released on Friday, September 8th. The announcement was made on Monday evening by both Cardi and Megan on Instagram.
“BONGOS Cardi x Megan Thee Stallion 9/8,” reads the caption.
The two ladies previously collaborated in 2020 for the release of their joint single WAP. According to reports from Yahoo News, the fan-favorite single landed a No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and has even gone seven times platinum.
Cardi has teased in the last year an official follow-up to her debut album Invasion of Privacy; originally released in 2018. She confirmed in an interview with Vogue Mexico y Latinoamerica, that a new project is, “coming out very soon.”
However, Cardi shocked fans as she previously declared that she would not be releasing any more collabs.
‘I’m going to release my next solo single. Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up,’ Cardi told the mag last month.
She added, “’Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now, they did when I released WAP and when I released Up, but I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon..”
The 30-year-old recently appeared alongside her husband Offset in a joint collaboration for the release of his single, ” Jealousy.”
The Hot Girl coach confirmed earlier this year on social media to fans that she would be stepping away from music for a while to focus on healing. However in a recent post to Instagram Megan shared a photograph of herself in the studio with a caption that read, “I’m back in that mode. It’s that time.”
Her last album ‘Traumazine’, was released back in 2022.
