Cousins! Just six months after announcing the shocking news that they’ve made plans to go there separate ways, it has been confirmed that Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict have reached an official settlement within their divorce!
According to documents obtained from PEOPLE magazine Tia and Cory have reached an agreement surrounding custody of their children as well as property. It has been indicated that the former couple, “entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage or domestic partnership rights, including support.”
The pair has agreed to the original proposal issued by Tia back in October declaring both parents legal and joint custody of their 11 year old son Cree and 4 year old daughter Cairo. They’ve also asked for the court to terminate any possibility of spousal support in accordance to their premarital agreement.
As we previously reported Tia filed for divorce back in October and announced that shocking news on her Instagram within a forwarded statement.
In a previous interview Tia described her 14 year marriage as a success. “ I look at it as like a curriculum when you’re in college or high school. You’re learning, you’re growing, you’re evolving, you’re creating. I was able to create with Cory some beautiful, amazing children. At the end of that curriculum, there’s a graduation, there’s a celebration. So that’s basically how I’m looking at it now.”
Tia said, “…when (people) look at marriage; success equals longevity. But, no, at the end of the day, are they happy? Are they thriving? Are they growing? I feel like that is what is most important. It’s not about staying in something because however long you are in that situation, that equals success. It’s about really, again, are you happy? Because life is really short.”
