Cousins! A man was recently arrested and charged after being found on the #HBCU campus of North Carolina A&T strapped with firearms, a long list of weapons alongside with a chicken foot and a bottle of holy water!
According to Fox News, Brandon James Bentley was located by officials on Sunday March 26th, at the intersection of Sullivan Street and North Benbow Road, directly on the NC A&T campus. He is said to have been equipped with a revolver, loaded handgun, a rifle, two shotguns and several hundred rounds of ammunition. Brandon is also said to have had a firework type explosive,” brass knuckles, a machete, a sword, a “blowdart weapon,” a crossbow, a hatchet, a stun gun, a dozen knives, “claws,” and a baton.
Sadly it doesn’t end there the culprit is said to also have had bolts for his crossbow, two “choking devices,” a window breaker, a chicken foot, pepper spray and “holy water.”
Brandon was spotted by officials recklessly driving without a license.
As per WXII news Brandon is said to have been described as extremely violent and making threats to law enforcement. Officers at NC A&T state Brandon had been chasing unarmed security guards around the campus. Local police and NC A&T officers helped to ultimately detain him.
Court documents show Brandon has been charged with multiple weapons offenses including firearm on educational property, explosive device on educational property, weapon on educational property, carrying a concealed weapon, driving with revoked license, and reckless driving.
North Carolina A&T State University released a statement following the incident.
“On March 26 at approximately 4 a.m., Brandon James Bentley was arrested on the North Carolina A&T State University campus after being encountered driving unsafely in the area of Sullivan Street and Benbow Road.
After campus law enforcement discovered weapons in the vehicle, Bentley was immediately arrested, and the weapons confiscated. Because of the quick and decisive action of law enforcement, a campus alert was not issued, as the suspect no longer constituted an ongoing threat to campus safety.
The FBI, State Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Greensboro Police Department are in charge of an ongoing joint investigation into this incident. Bentley, who has no affiliation with A&T, has been banned from the North Carolina A&T campus.
The University remains committed to safety and security of our campus and will continue to use the emergency alert system in instances where threats are ongoing.”
It has been confirmed that Brandon has no affiliation with the university and has been banned from their campus including all educational properties.
Brandon appeared in court on March 27th, his bond has been increased to $100,000.00.
